Murray, the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2015, takes over for a struggling Kyle Allen, who started for the Aggies in their first seven games.

In his past two outings — both A&M losses — Allen completed only 32 of 74 passes for 351 yards and one touchdown to four interceptions (three returned for a touchdown).

Murray has played sparingly this season, going 17 of 31 through the air for 167 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He also has 124 rushing yards.

If Texas A&M intends to start Murray for the remainder of the season, this would be the week to start. The Aggies go up against a South Carolina defense ranked tied for 84th in yards per game (414), 56th in passing yards per game (214.1) and tied for 102nd in rushing yards per game (200.1)
