By Thursday morning, eight female plaintiffs had alleged they were assaulted by Tennessee athletes and that the university created a culture where athletes were not held accountable for their actions.

On top of the plaintiffs, former player Drae Bowles and a former vice chancellor agree that the culture surrounding athletics at the school is not healthy.

Bowles claimed football coach Butch Jones called him a “traitor” after he was attacked by teammates for helping one of the alleged rape victims.

The university has denied claims that it allows a “rape culture” within the athletic department.
